Tips for Writing Your Application
This is a simple application so providing some detail regarding your goals and how the grant will make a difference for you and your students will strengthen your application and may give you an edge over others. Following some of the tips below may help you accomplish this goal.
For the “Explain why you are applying for this grant” question, identify the educational need or issue you hope to address. For example, with the lesson/project you are submitting for this grant award:
Would learning be improved in your classroom (be specific)?
Would you be able to reach a new group of students?
Would students gain an additional skill(s)?
Would you be able to address a specific instructional need?
Will students experience a different way of learning?
For the lesson plan summary, you only need a short paragraph or a few sentences with some bullet points) but consider including :
A brief statement of how the use of technology in this lesson/project supports your lesson goals/targets.
Intended outcomes that help the grant committee better understand what will happen in your classroom if you receive the grant.
How will you measure success? This may be answered in your lesson plan but if not, include a sentence in the summary about how you will evaluate whether or not the lesson achieved your intended outcomes.
